Obviously not my first anxiety dream ever, or frankly my first one this month. But definitely the first one I’ve ever had about Night:City. And it was both brilliant and ridiculous, so please sit back and enjoy the experience…
In the dream, we were at the theatre. Because apparently we had decided to sell tickets for a half-cooked rehearsal and invite people to “give feedback”. There were a few things wrong with this plan, namely
– the show was at the exact stage it currently is: completed script, but two unfinished songs including the finale. Apparently I was supposed to stop the show at each point and give some sort of explanation about what was going to happen when it was finished
– the songs that are finished were all still in demo form
– we had not had any rehearsals
– one of my cast members had never read the script
– three of my cast members were sitting in the front row. I felt there was something wrong with this but they were looking forward to seeing the show
– Halle Berry had mysteriously joined the cast (note: If Halle Berry would like to join my cast I am willing to negotiate)
– someone had invited a reviewer from “The Stage”
Disappointingly, I woke up before the actual performance began. Disturbingly, my first thought was “ooh, it would be a really good idea to invite a reviewer from “The Stage”…
My second thought was “b*gger, it’s only 4:30am.”
In too much information, my third thought was “Gosh, I really need to visit the bathroom” but before I could act on this, I heard a very, very quiet creaking floor board which my half-asleep brain insisted IT’S A GOBLIN! MUST NOT LEAVE BED! NOT SAFE! so I lay there half asleep until 6:30 when it was light and therefore safe to go to the bathroom.
Aren’t you looking forward to Night:City even more now? Saturday 25th July 2026, Fisher Theatre, Bungay!
Stay safe,
Carys xx

Wonderful….xxxx
