I’m writing this via the wifi of the public library in Atherstone (aren’t public libraries wonderful?) as I’m currently on holiday… but today marks the OFFICIAL release date of my new EP, O Bid Your Faithful Ariel Fly. Some of you who either saw me in The Tempest last month or Cream of the Crop last week already have a copy of course, but for those of you who don’t, here are the details and purchase link:
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:
Classical vocal music is something quite different for Carys, but on O Bid Your Faithful Ariel Fly she ventures into this new territory with skilful aplomb, presenting beautiful interpretations of four beloved classical vocal works. She also spices things up with some nice atmospheric synth touches in places, adding an unexpected and unusual dimension to the music.
The album features guests Tim Lodge on cello and Vicky Club Music on piano and harpsichord. David Wright also adds his trademark strings arrangements and keys, plus high production values. The ep is presented on standard jewel case and tray with 4 page booklet. The download version includes a 6 page digital booklet.
Stunning and highly original!
Please let me know what you think! While I’ve been singing classical music on and off since my teens this is my first foray into actual recording… I’m rather pleased with the result!
Finally, a big thank you to Atherstone public library for letting me use their wifi today. All that remains now is for me to find my way back to where I’m staying. It’s only about four miles apparently. On foot, and I’ve got a map…
P.S. Look out for some very exciting Max the Pirate Cat news, coming soon…
