Situation Normal! Possibly.

This post starts with good intentions! I fully intend to actually write regular blog posts from now until… well hopefully quite some time. Certainly the rest of this year. Whether it works out that way remains to be seen…

However, you will be pleased (or disappointed if you’re secretly a chaos demon) to hear that finally it is Situation Normal (Possibly). By which I mean last year, as it turns out, wasn’t very normal at all.

Remember those panic attacks I wrote about? The waking up at 4am and having to go for a 5 mile walk (counting steps all the way) to stop my mind from spiralling? Yeah… turns out that isn’t normal for everyone else. Hmm.

Anyway, things came to a head in October last year, though the outside world would thankfully have been nicely oblivious. Here’s a couple of photos taken from the Hallowe’en folkstream. What they don’t show is that I had spent the previous hour sobbing hysterically because I was too scared to go home and deal with another night of solitary panic attacks…

Awesome former housemate came home with me and stayed for that weekend, bless her. And without boring everyone with the details (though yes, they do involve meds and a therapist – hi S! Look at me Doing The Second Scary Thing Today!) I am no longer having constant anxiety attacks or struggling to sleep because my brain is insisting we’re about to die. So that’s good. It also means I can concentrate on much more interesting things like

WHAT THE HECK IS THAT TERRIBLE SOUND DAVID IS PLAYING?!

Sorry about that. We’re in the studio. He’s trying out sounds. Some are – ahem – nicer than others 😀

Where was I?

Ah, yes. Situation normal – possibly. Or as normal as it tends to get around here. And I’m rambling. So I shall sign off here and hope that I manage to write something else within… say, a week!

Stay safe,

Carys xx
